Durga puja is the most important festival that we eagerly look forward to all through the year in Bengal. Our beloved city Kolkata turns prettier with light and décor, them pandels and above all, the unfathomable spirit of her people. Unfortunately among all the gifts and glitter, there are some left isolated from these festivities. Durga puja is just another day to them as their normal routine. They are born poor, hardly they have chance to eat good food, living in a very primitive conditions hence fortune denies them the right of being an integral part of the festival. They stand as strangers as they watch others rejoicing in the spirit of Durga puja, knowing well that they will never experience those moments.
“AAHAR UTSAV” –is an initiative of feeding those destitute people with royal food one entire day, from the morning to the night along with different cultural programmes to spread love, care and affection within the community. Our one act of kindness can go a long way in creating happiness for these people stuck in a desolate place.
Beneficiaries: They are were 800 tribal community people (Sabar) from Eastern and western part of Satyadaspur, who have participated and celebrated the biggest AAHAR UTSAV of South 24 parganas district. More over Santhal and another 1700 people from the Satyadaspur area, who belongs to different caste and creeds, enjoyed this event every bit.
