From Student to Mentor: Sabala Bhakta’s Inspiring Journey of Hope and Education
by | on May 14 2026
In the remote villages of the Sundarbans, where poverty, isolation, and uncertainty often shape childhoods, stories like Sabala Bhakta’s remind us why education can become a powerful force of transformation.
When SOUL began its journey years ago, Sabala was one of the very first nine students enrolled in our education programme. A young Savar tribal girl with bright eyes and quiet dreams, she came from a community where continuing education beyond the basic level is often difficult due to financial hardship and social challenges.
Today, that same little girl has achieved a remarkable milestone. Sabala has successfully passed her Higher Secondary Examination in 2026 with Grade B — a proud moment not only for her family but also for the entire Savar community of the Sundarbans.
But her journey does not end there.
What makes this achievement truly meaningful is that Sabala is now teaching younger students at SOUL. The child who once sat in the classroom with hesitation is today guiding other children toward education, confidence, and hope. Through her dedication and compassion, she is helping the next generation believe that their dreams are also possible.
Her transformation from a student into a mentor reflects the deeper vision of SOUL – creating community-led change where beneficiaries themselves become future changemakers.
In regions like the Sundarbans, where many children still struggle for access to quality education, Sabala’s story stands as a symbol of resilience, empowerment, and possibility. She is not just passing examinations; she is breaking barriers and inspiring an entire generation of tribal children to dream beyond survival.
We wholeheartedly congratulate Sabala Bhakta on this beautiful achievement and wish her strength, success, and endless opportunities ahead.
From learning to leading — Sabala has truly become a torchbearer of change.
