Launched in 2017, the Swastha Seva Program by SOUL delivers free healthcare services to underserved and remote communities across the Sundarbans, Kolkata, South 24 Parganas, and Howrah districts. Through Online Telemedicine Services and Outreach Medical Camps, we ensure that even the most isolated families have access to essential healthcare.
Our telemedicine services provide remote medical consultations, connecting patients in rural areas with qualified doctors via video calls. Patients receive free medical advice and necessary medications without having to travel far from their homes.
Our Outreach Medical Camps bring healthcare services to the heart of the community. Staffed by registered medical practitioners, paramedics, and nurses, we offer free medical consultations, diagnostic tests, and medications.
Our Registered Medical Practitioners (RMP) and ground staff conduct quarterly BMI reviews for children suffering from malnutrition and stunted growth. Based on these assessments, we provide the necessary medical support to help them recover and grow healthier.
Worm infections are a serious health issue for tribal communities in the Sundarbans. To combat this, we regularly conduct deworming drives, providing free deworming medication to children and their parents, helping reduce infection rates and improve health.
Due to a lack of clean water and proper sanitation, many people in the Sundarbans suffer from skin diseases. The constant exposure to saline water during honey and crab collection further exacerbates these issues. Our doctors treat these skin conditions and ensure a full recovery.
In the unfortunate event of a tiger attack, SOUL takes full responsibility for the victim’s medical treatment. We provide necessary medications and ensure their recovery.
In collaboration with reputed eye hospitals, we offer free cataract surgeries and eye treatments, ensuring that vision-related issues are treated promptly for those in need.
Through partnerships with leading hospitals, we provide free prosthetic limbs (legs and hands) to individuals who have suffered amputations due to accidents, injuries, or tiger attacks. This service restores mobility and independence, helping individuals reclaim their lives.
Since its launch, the Swastha Seva Program has made a significant impact on healthcare access for underserved communities:
Healthcare access in rural areas, especially in the Sundarbans, is often a struggle:
The Swastha Seva Program solves these issues by offering telemedicine and mobile medical camps, bringing healthcare services directly to the communities that need them most.
The Swastha Seva Program contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG):
Providing quality healthcare to promote healthy lives and well-being for all ages.
By offering free healthcare, we reduce the financial burden on families in poverty.
Ensuring equal access to healthcare for marginalized and remote communities.
By supporting the Swastha Seva Program, you can help ensure that patients receive the care they need, regardless of their location or financial situation.
